Condition

Overall good condition. Gilt bronze with some rubbing, surface dirt, and oxidation. Patinated bronze with some rubbing to high points. Usual surface dirt and light scratches.

Catalogue Note

While this model features the stag and boar in patinated instead of gilt bronze and eliminates an additional section of the base, it is based on a pair supplied by Quentin-Claude Pitoin in 1772 to Madame du Barry at Fontainebleu. They are now part of the collection at the Louvre.
