(Dupuis - 1962)

Catalogue Note

This was Peyo’s favourite series, and it shows! All his art is concentrated here. The maximum readability. The constant sense of humour. The masterly double-act between the page and his mischievous sidekick. The punchline takes place out of view to boost its comic effect. The large panel occupying the top has an incredible vivacity - just look at the guests at the banquet, there are no extras, only "real" characters, with a life and expressions of their own. What can one say, except that Peyo is an outstanding storyteller?
