Catalogue Note

The duc de Montpensier, youngest of Louis-Philippe's children, is also the least known. Aged 24 when the Monarchy of July ceased to exist, he headed towards Spain. He married Louise-Fernande de Bourbon of Spain (1832-1897). One of their daughters married the Comte de Paris, her cousin, eldest of the duc d'Orléans' sons.
