Complete set in good overall condition.
Morocco box discolored by sunlight; the surface slightly stained and scratched throughout, and rubbed on the corners. The strap worn out. Keys with extensive rust.

Ce n'est qu'en 1824, grâce à la bienveillance de Charles X tout juste monté sur le trône, que Louis-Philippe duc d'Orléans, rentré en France depuis 1815, obtint le titre d'Altesse Royale. Lorsqu'il fut proclamé roi des Français en 1830, c'est son fils aîné Ferdinand (1810-1842), jusqu'alors duc de Chartres, qui devint officiellement duc d'Orléans et Altesse Royale.
Nicolas-Jacques Garnesson, marchand de nécessaires, était installé au n°155-156 des galeries du Palais Royal. Il collabora avec les principaux fournisseurs de la Cour impériale, puis ceux de la cour des Bourbons. A sa mort en 1824, son fils Hippolyte reprit l'activité familiale.
