To the naked eye: The painting is in a moderate satisfactory condition. It has been lined very strongly that has flattened the matter, on the 2nd half of the 20thcentury. We notice numerous wear zones: on the ruff, the beard, the hair and the background. Under U.V. light: The painting appears under a green uniform varnish. We notice several restorations essentially on the background, essentially on the right upper corner and above his left shoulder and his head. We notice some restorations on the hair, to the left, the beard and on the ruff. We notice several repaints more lightly done on the black clothes.
