avec une dédicace sur la plinthe: "OFFERTE A LA PRINCESSE AMELIE A L'OCCASION DE SON MARIAGE PAR LES EMPLOYES DU CHATEAU, ECURIE, PARC, DEPENDANCES ET FORET D'EU / 22 MAI 1886" - bronze

Condition
Good condition overall with wear to the patina consistent with age and handling. Some oxidation and verdegris to the surface. Cast by F.Barbedienne around 1886.

Catalogue Note
La statue en argent grandeur nature, fondue par Odiot, fut offerte à Louis XVIII en 1824, aujourd'hui au musée du Louvre (inv. n°CC37). Bosio présente le jeune Roi à l'âge dix ans environ. Il reçut la commande de deux marbres, l'un pour la maison du Roi (château de Versailles), l'autre pour le château de Pau, ville natale d'Henri IV. Bosio obtint ensuite le privilège de fondre douze exemplaires en bronze de ce modèle.
