Cette croix a peut-être été réalisée pour une commande particulière ; elle est de dimensions légèrement plus petites que celles habituelles mais plus lourde et plus riche en or que de coutume, les extrémités étant terminées par d’inhabituelles pointes dorées au lieu des boules classiques ; maintenue grâce à une bélière ciselée de volutes et un anneau nervuré ; (excellent état de conservation) ; avec un cordon

Cette croix a probablement été portée par Louis-Philippe d’Orléans (1773-1850), futur roi Louis-Philippe, et peut-être exécutée pour lui.
Order of the Saint-Esprit, sash or collar badge in gold and enamels, probably by Coudray and also possibly made during the period 1791-1814, perhaps as a private commission; of slightly smaller module than usual but a thicker and slightly heavier badge with most unusual pointed gold tips to the cross replacing ball-points, scrollwork ring-mount with ribbed riband-carrier for suspension, width 59.5mm, in excellent condition and virtually as made, with sash.
Also probably worn by, and perhaps made for Louis-Philippe d’Orléans (1773-1850), the future King Louis-Philippe I (1830-1848).
