meticulously carved in the form of a dragon-fish with a chilong clambering up its back, leaping out of turbulent waves with its large gaping mouth open to catch the 'flaming pearl' and forming the cavity of the vase, the fins and scales finely detailed, the stone of a grayish-green color

Collection of Robert von Hirsch, prior to 1977, thence by descent.
Condition
There is a polished chip to the edge of the dorsal fin on one side. There are minor nicks and tiny bruises to the edges, but the carving is in overall good condition.
