the blue-glazed dish with a barbed rim and splayed reticulated foot, applied with a dark blue glaze and decorated in white enamel with the 'Four Gentlemen' (bamboo, prunus, peony and orchid) on the underside; the smaller dish covered in a mottled red glaze transmuting to white at the rim
Condition
There are three nicks to the edges of the blue-glazed footed dish and further typical firing imperfections in the glaze along the edges of the dish, some wear to the interior. Otherwise the dish is in good condition. The red-glazed dish is in good condition with some wear and scratches to the interior.
