of rectangular section, the flat top brightly decorated in cloisonné enamel with large red lotus blooms borne on long leafy stems issuing large lotus pads, the sides with a ruyi border, the sides of the box similarly decorated, the base covered with thin scroll motifs, all against a bright turquoise ground, the sides divided with gilded borders
Condition
There is some expected wear to the gilt-bronze rims of the box and cover, together with scratches and occasional dents, noticeably to the rim and corners of the box. In addition to typical pitting, there is surface wear to the polychrome enamels and some oxidation to the gilt-bronze sections.
