Description

  • rhinoceros horn
carved in the form of a veined leaf attached to a gnarled stalk forming the openwork handle and issuing clusters of rose hip berries surrounding the flared body of the vessel, the horn patinated to a rich amber brown colour

Condition

There are some minor expected chips or nicks to the edges of the carving, including a minute chip to the edge of one leaf forming the handle towards the rear of the libation cup, typical occasional wordage to the underside and the surface is somewhat dry. Otherwise the cup is in good condition.
