  • bronze
seated in vajraparyankasana, his right hand extended in bhumisparsha mudra and the left in samadhi mudra, dressed in loose robes with incised decorative borders along the hems revealing the upper chest, seated on a detachable hollow hemispherical lotus base rising from an openwork hexagonal stand, the bronze with traces of gold lacquer

Condition

There are areas of oxidation and malachite encrustation to the surface of the figure and stand. There are also traces of gilding to the clothing of the figure. There are also small chips to the fragile extremities, including the edges of the hems, as well as small areas of breakage to the protruding knobs and the feet of the base, the largest measuring approx. 2 by 1.2 cm to one foot. Small apertures are also formed through the lotus base.
