the two bowls with everted sides, supported on a lobed saucer, painted around the exterior with flowers and geese, the domed covers similarly decorated and surmounted by a dished knob, each inscribed in iron red with a six-character Guangxu reign mark on the base and the knob, the spoons decorated its white prunus, camellia and magpie, the underside with iron-red bats and inscribed with a Daoguang seal mark
Condition
The two bowls are generally in good condition with typical firing imperfections. There is a 1 cm. body line to the rim of one bowl's cover, some nicks and minor imperfections including burst air bubbles, iron spots and kiln grits to the outer and inner rims of the saucers, all likely to be original to the firing. There is some wear in areas to the enamels and rubbing to the gilding on the rim, noticeably on the rim of the dished cover knobs.
The spoons are also generally in good condition. There is rubbing to the gilding on the outer rim, some specks in the white glaze or occasional losses or wear to the enamels.
