the ovoid body decorated with a lady seated on a daybed and a child peeking over her shoulder, surrounded by vases of flowers and various furniture, a banana tree on the reverse, the fitted cover with two boys at play, all painted in a palette of predominantly pastel shades

Condition

The jar is in overall good condition. The cover is also in good condition except for a star crackle in the glaze to the interior (not going through). There is some expected occasional rubbing to the enamels, typical bubbling in the turquoise or minor losses but overall these have been well preserved. There is an original firing crack in the biscuit to the interior of the footrim.
