Description

  • porcelain
with deep rounded sides and a flaring rim, the interior faintly incised with a phoenix among clouds beneath a thick layer of yellow glaze, the exterior incised with clouds, incised on the base with an apocryphal six-character Jiajing mark

Condition

The dish is generally in good condition. There are some expected scratches and surface wear to the interior of the dish, some typical firing imperfections including iron spots or minute glaze gaps to the underside or grits to the footring. The glaze has somewhat pooled to a darker tone to one side of the dish as visible on the catalogue photo.
