the flat plaque carved as a vine bearing three aubergines, with vines issuing tender curling leaves wrapping the fruits, carved with scrolling tendrils on the reverse, the even white-coloured stone with icy inclusions throughout

Condition

The carving is in overall good condition. There is some light occasional pitting to the surface and expected nibbling on the edge. There are possibly small polished down areas to the edges to conceal earlier nicks. The catalogue illustration is brighter than the actual colour of the stone.
