the well modelled deity depicted seated on a woven mat, dressed in a robe falling in thick folds and draped over legs folded to one side, with arms hidden and resting on a bent knee, hair drawn up in a chignon and secured with a scarf and ruyi-form ornaments, the gently bowed head turned to the left and with a serene expression

A private Japanese collection.
Condition
The figure is in overall good condition. There is a minute iron spot on the robe to her left shoulder and an original vertical flaw underglaze in the biscuit on the reverse (approx. 3 cm.), original to the firing. There are a few typical minor firing cracks scattered along the bottom edge of the robe on the reverse, all original to the firing.
