the first formed from two rounded pieces cast in openwork with sinuous dragons framed by stylised waves, the reverse incised with floral motifs and decorated with two exposed posts, one section incised with the characters quan de; the second buckle of arched rectangular form, comprising two pieces cast with a hidden sliding hinge, the front worked with three writhing dragons
Condition
The belt buckles are in overall good condition with just expected surface wear to the gilding.
