Description

  • ceramics
with a compressed globular body surmounted by a cylindrical neck and everted mouth, supported on three short feet, covered overall with a mottled caesious-coloured glaze save for the base revealing a dark brown body, later set with a pierced metal cover incised with a five-character mark

Condition

The incense burner is overall in good condition. It has light fritting to the edge of the rim, and speckled with iron spots as visible on the catalogue illustration. There are a few typical glaze gaps, including a flaw to the interior rim, possibly a burst air bubble. The object has a warmer celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration. Fitted with a pierced metal cover (not photographed in the illustration).
