well potted, the first applied on the interior and the exterior with a black glaze painted with russet streaks drizzling down the sides, falling short of the rim and above the neatly cut foot, revealing a reddish-brown stoneware, the other similarly applied with a mottled brown glaze stopping unevenly over the greyish-pink ware
Condition
The two bowls are generally in good condition. The 'hare fur' bowl is somewhat sagging to one side. There is a hairline crack of approx. 2 cm to the mouthrim, with associated losses and a retouched flake of approx. 0.7 by 0.8 cm to the exterior. The surface of the 'Jizhou' bowl is quite dry and has some minor glaze flakes.
