the belthook carved with a mythical beast head terminal, its flowing mane figured with fine incisions on the reverse and a smaller chilong in openwork clambering on the arched shaft, the bi disc carved in high relief with a large and a smaller chilong, the flat underside detailed with 'S' scrolls

Condition

The two carvings are generally in good condition with a few expected typical nibbling or occasional minute nicks along the edges. The actual colour of the Bi disc is somewhat less red, more pale brown compared to the catalogue illustration. The belt buckle is a tinge more celadon than the catalogue illustration.
