both fragments of a larger painting, the first wearing a purple garment, holding a brush in its right hand, looking at a tiger in the distance, the second, possibly Cao Guojiu, dressed in green and sporting an official hat, holding a pair of clappers, both finely painted in ink and coloured pigment on paper, framed and glazed

Condition

Both painting are fragments originally part of a larger painting. There are creases and extensive losses of pigments as visible on the illustrations in the catalogue. Both paintings are framed and glazed and not inspected outside their frame.
