Description

of conical form rising from neatly cut foot and shallow footring, well potted with flaring sides slightly bulging below the rim, applied on the interior and exterior walls with a lustrous black glaze mottled with russet streaks drizzling down from the rim evoking hare's fur, stopping short of the base and pooling in an uneven line revealing a dark greyish-brown body, the rim left unglazed and dressed with the a brown wash, Japanese wood box
Condition
The bowl is in overall very good condition. There are some light scratches and minor expected firing imperfections including occasional pinholes or crackles to the surface glaze, but otherwise the glaze is smooth and very pleasing.
