the first of the Sakya school finely drawn depicting the Indian saint with his two wifes Yesme Tsogyal and Mandarava together with Jambhala below, flanked by Sakya hierarchs with Marpa and Milarepa above and three further Sakya hierarchs in the upper register, the second of the Nyngma school depicting the Indian saint surrounded by lamas of the Nygma lineage, the third thangka depicting the Dharmapala Gurgyigompo typically crouching with bent knees and holding a knife and the kapala before his him

Condition

Both Padmasambhava with heavy accretion and staining and losses of pigment throughout. Surface wear and fading as visible on the illustration in the catalogue.The Mahakala with extensive rubbing and accretion as visible on the photo, staining, a missing section to the upper right.
