Description

of compressed globular form and octagonal section, the rounded sides divided into eight panels by slightly raised ridges, rising from a slightly concave base to angled shoulder and small tubular neck, set with a short incurved spout opposite a loop handle, the ridged neck surrounded by a collar of pointy petals, the fitted cover centred with a trefoil finial and set with a small horizontal lug, applied overall with a transparent glaze slightly tinged to blue, falling short of the base revealing a white ware, Japanese box

Condition

The ewer and cover are in overall very good condition. There is a short hairline under the glaze to the spout and some surface scratches on the surface glaze around the body.
