- porcelain
well potted in the form of a large bun, the domed cover finely decorated with a central pink and yellow peony and a purple hibiscus, surrounded by detached flower sprays arranged in concentric circles including prunus, magnolia, orchid, camellia or lotus in the first two registers, iris, morning-glory and hydrangea nearer to the rim, the box similarly decorated with detached floral sprays, all carefully painted in pastels of colours on a white ground, the rims gilt, the base inscribed in iron red with a four-character reign mark

Acquired from C.C. Teng & Co. during the 1990s.
Condition
The box is in very good condition and the enamels have been very well preserved. There is some expected rubbing to the gilding applied around the rims and occasional light scratches to the surface glaze.
