of globular form rising from a slightly splayed foot to a waisted neck, decorated on one side with a barbed panel depicting three goats on verdant pastures below a flowering prunus tree, with further sprays of osmanthus, rose, and lingzhi all issuing from a pierced rockwork, the reverse with another panel enclosing a cluster of flowers and a grasshopper, all against elaborate lotus scrolls reserved on a rich yellow ground, the shoulder with a band of lotus scrolls reserved on a ruby ground, the neck picked out with longevity characters between castellated pink and blue frieze and ruyi encircling the gilt neck, the base inscribed in iron-red with a six-character reign mark
Condition
The vase is generally in good condition. There is some typical rubbing to the gilding on the mouth rim, some bubbling and expected misfiring to the yellow ground enamel throughout, consistent with the period. There are a few light surface scratches to the surface glaze on the barbed panels.
