Literature
Paul Éluard, Le phénix. Avec 18 dessins de Valentine Hugo, Paris, 1955, illustrated n.p.
Condition
Executed on tracing paper, not mounted or laid down. Edges are cut. The medium is well preserved and the line is strong. There is some slight undulation to the sheet which is inherent to this type of support. A few tiny nicks around extreme perimeter and a pair of soft creases at extreme lower right corner. There is one 3.5 in. crease extending upwards from the center of the bottom edge with some associated minor tearing - this may have been part of the process for transferring the image. Overall this work is in good condition.
