Condition

Pile ranges from original 1/8 of an inch to fields of low to knot heads to foundation. Small holes, largest of which is approx 2 in. by 1in. holes now filled with red fabric on reverse. A 6 by 2 1/2 in. patch in upper right corner. Scattered moth damage and foldwear with a 18in. diagonal foldwear area in lower left corner ending in a 2 by 1in. loss to border. Remnants of lowers flatwoven finish. Now uneven and with losses to outer guard stripes on all four sides. Extremly supple handle and lustrous wool typical of turkeman carpets of this vintage. Hanging strip sewn to reverse on upper edge.
