Condition

Pile ranges from near original 1/4in. with ivory field oxidized and worn low to knot heads and foundation. Spot foundation showing also in light browns and pale plums. Scattered repiling, repiled fold wear in ivories and blues. Vertical lazy lines with repiling. Repiled moth damage in borders; well executed and hard to detect. Some older faded repiling, more visible, in outer border. Sides later overcast, ends now stabilized with cloth tape sewn on reverse, upper end with remnants of original finish. Lustrous wool, extremely supple handle, sound fabric and good condition for age.
