Catalogue Note

Another example of this lot is currently exhibited in the solo show: Zao Wou-Ki, la lumière et le souffle at Musée d'Art de Pully (Switzerland). The exhibition highlights the importance of poetry as an inspiration for the artist. The catalogue - with an article written by the former French Prime Minister and close friend to the artist, Dominique de Villepin - shows Zao's passion for illustrating poems, especially for limited edition books dedicated to his close friend: the poet Henri Michaux.

Exclusively focusing on this friendship, an exhibition organized at the Martin Bodmer Foundation in Cologny (Switzerland) will open in December 2015.
