Condition

The work is on its original canvas. The surface is intact with stabilized drying cracks and no paint lifting. There is a small area of craquelure near the lower middle area of the composition. A few areas of retouching are visible under ultraviolet light: there is a vertical thin line of retouching, measuring 18cm in length, along the upper left edge; there are a few scattered spots of retouching near the centre of the left edge; there is a vertical thin line of retouching, measuring 15cm in length, about 8cm from the middle left edge, with some associated spots of retouching nearby; there is a vertical line of retouching, measuring 5cm in length and 1cm in width, located about 8cm from the left edge and 20cm from the bottom; there are thin dotted lines of retouching, measuring 11cm in length, located in the lower centre area about 15cm from the bottom, with some associated spots of retouching nearby; there are 3 horizontal lines of retouching, measuring respectively 10cm, 4cm and 3cm in length and 1cm in width, located along the centre of the top edge; there are 2 spots of retouching located 20 cm from the top edge and 33cm from the right edge.The work is framed.
