In 8s (10 1/8 x 6 1/2; 257 x 165 mm). Woodcut portrait of Hemingway after Henry Strater on verso of half-title. Original tan boards with black lettering and publisher’s device printed over a collage of red-lettered newspaper items, headlines, and a map on the front cover. Usual light offsetting to endpapers; a little rubbing to spine ends and minor bumping to corners of upper cover, spot of rubbing at tail of lower joint, but an unusually attractive copy of a fragile book, housed in an  older quarter morocco folding chemise slipcase.

First edition of Hemingway’s second book, limited to 170 numbered copies printed on Rives paper (this is copy 90).
