Dans l’angle inférieur gauche, cet envoi autographe signé :
"à mon ami Stéphane Mallarmé, souvenir d’amitié. Méry".
Un des rarissimes envois de Méry au poète. Mallarmé en effet ne conserva aucun écrit de sa tendre amie pour ne pas froisser sa propre épouse Marie avec laquelle le dialogue s’était arrêté depuis de longues années.
