Célèbre photographie qui immortalisa Mallarmé.
Tirage au palladium d’époque (190 x 250 mm), signé en bas à droite, au crayon, P. Nadar. Monté sur carton fort et encadré.
Très beau tirage, malgré quelques légères rayures superficielles.
Stéphane Mallarmé porte sur les épaules le châle que lui a offert Méry Laurent. Il est assis à une table, une plume à la main, un livre ancien posé entrouvert. Un autre tirage est conservé, accroché au mur de la chambre de Stéphane Mallarmé, à Valvins.
