Condition

The canvas has been strip-lined. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure, and a light old stretcher mark corresponding to the central horizontal stretcher bar. Ultra-violet light reveals a number of scattered spots od minor retouching, and areas of an old residual varnish fluoresce more opaquely, notably in the background. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
