of rectangular form, with rounded corners with leather pockets on block flaring supports, the whole inlaid with cubes and ivory stringing with sixteen billiard balls; together with eight later billiard cues and a stand

Catalogue Note

This elegant pool table model was named after Johnnie Kling, a famous Chicago Cubs baseball player but also World Champion of pool in 1909. He opened a pool hall in Kansas City and commissioned this model inspired by classical Egyptian Grecian motifs from Brunswick for his hall.

This lot remains in its current location in Germany where it will be available for viewing by prospective buyers by appointment with Sotheby’s, and for collection by the successful buyer at their own risk and expense following the sale of the lot.
