Description
- Lacquer, Parcel-gilt, marble, pine / poplar
- 78cm. high, 127cm. wide, 80cm. deep; 2ft. 6 ¾in., 4ft. 2in., 2ft. 7 ½in.
en suite to the previous lot, with an inset mottled cream, grey and white marble top above a pierced frieze centred by an acanthus cartouche on cabriole legs carved with a stylised boss terminating in hoof feet with similarly carved pierced sides, the whole carved with scrolls and acanthus and painted with floral sprays
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. The top has some very miniscule chips which are hardly noticeable. There is evidence of old minor woodworm to the base which appears to be no longer active. Old very minor chips and losses to the painted decoration and the carving which can easily be touched up. There are some scattered hairline age cracks and some construction cracks at the joints which are normal and can easily be filled or left. Some retouching to the decoration.
