Condition

All six panels are flat and even and are ensuring a stable support. Ultra-violet light reveals some small scattered spots of retouching, notably in the upper right corner (i), upper and lower edge (ii), upper left corner (iii), scattered minor spots in the sky and in the grass (iv), scattered minor spots in the trees (v), and minor spots in the sky (vi). Traces of old residual varnish fluoresce quite opaquely in all six panels. These paintings are in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in dark wooden frames with gilt inner slips.

(iv) Venus orders Psyche to collect a dose of the beauty of Proserpina from the underworld;
(v) Cupid awakens Psyche;
(vi) Psyche is taken to Jupiter and is given the drink of immortality.
