Condition
The canvas has been lined. As visible in the catalogue illustration, areas of the crimson pigments appear to be degraded notably in the background and in the book in the lower left quadrant, possibly relating to the relining or to a previous clean. Ultra-violet light reveals uneven fluorescence and minor scattered spots of retouching. The picture is ready to hang.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
