Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There are visible stretcher marks on all four edges of the painting, some minor hairline craquelure throughout the surface and spots of rubbing notably along the upper and right edge of the canvas. Ultra-violet light reveals few scattered spots of cosmetic retouching, notably in the centre left of the composition, addressing craquelure and a possible repair which has been strengthened on the reverse with a small horizontal patch. The picture in in otherwise good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
