Condition
Overall the condition of the antependium is good, with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. The gesso was applied in sections, and joints are slightly visible. There are also stable hairline fissures to the material in several places. The relief has partially detached from the ground in a few areas, notably the central medallion, where the joint is slightly open but stable. There is wear to the polychromy throughout, including minor losses at the high points.
There is wear to the wood frame, including a few losses around the edges and corner. Some remnants of gilding or silvering remain. There is minor stable splitting to the wood, consistent with he material. There is some evidence of past worming, in particular at the sides. The frame is composed in sections, and a few joints are slightly visible. There are two metal hooks and a piece of string to the back for mounting.
