Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Attractive detail to carving. Old very minor marks chips and scratches commensurate with age and normal usage. There are old minor restorations to the carving some of which would benefit from further minor attention. There are construction cracks at joints which can be left as these are normal age cracks. There is some minor wear to the tazze on top of the scrolls. One of the stems has an old glue repair and would benefit from some further attention. There have been some old break to the wooden frame of one roundel enclosing the verre eglomisé and some of the mouldings surrounding the roundels is slightly lighter in colour than the rest and maybe replacements but could easily be repolished. The tip on one of the wings of the bird has been chipped off on the left side when facing but this is not too noticeable. The head and neck of one of the birds is thicker than the other and could well be a replacement. The neck of the other bird has been broken and restored. The colour is slightly uneven on the darker wood and would benefit from a repolish according to taste. It is sold with the three loose cushions in the catalogue photograph.
