worked in polychrome wool and silk, centred with a shaped golden cartouche enclosing figures of Tobias, his father Tobit, mother Anna, and the archangel Raphael, against a brown ground with floral motifs, probably previously seat upholstery, now framed
Condition
Overall measurements: 83 by 70cm (framed); 78 by 66cm (textile visible); 2ft. 9in., 2ft. 3.5in. and 2ft. 7in., 2ft. 2in.
Textile panel is backed with linen. It can easily be removed from the surrounding frame.
Panel is in very good overall professionally restored condition. Large sections of outer surround reworked in silk. Very decorative allegorical piece.
