Condition
The canvas has been lined. Minor flaking and rubbing is visible along the four framing edges, covered by the frame. There is some hairline craquelure, notably in the left and upper side of the composition, and some very minor protuberances in the paint, notably towards the centre left edge and along the right river bank, some of which may be inherent to the picture. Under ultra-violet light large areas in the sky fluoresce quite opaquely and scattered spots of cosmetic retouching are visible, notably in the house and trees to the left hand side, in the fields to the right and along the lower and right framing edge. The picture is in otherwise good condition and ready to hang.
Presented in a dark wooden frame.
