Condition
The board is flat even and ensuring a stable support. There is a small spot of rubbing with associated paint flaking in the sitter's neck line, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Ultra-violet light reveals signs of cosmetic retouching, notably in the sitter's face, neck and dress, and to the right of the composition.
Presented in a gilt frame with inner oval slip.
