Description

  • poplar, mirror,
  • each approximately 208cm. high, 118cm. wide; 6ft. 10in., 3ft. 10 ½in.
each with an arched cresting with a Ho-Ho bird, divided later plate and mirrored border and apron, the whole carved with rocaille, scrolls, foliage and flowers; regilt

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Old very minor marks and chips which are hardly noticeable. Some of the mirror plates especially on the borders are discoloured as visible from the catalogue photograph. One of the small mirrored cartouches has a break which can easily be replaced. The other mirror has a small area of discolouration on the left of the cresting as visible from the catalogue photograph. There is some retouching with gilt paint and there are some restored breaks in the carving but these have been well executed and are hardly noticeable.
