Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with dirt and some wear to the surface consistent with age. The rider would have probably held a spear, which is lost. There are several areas with spots of dirt, including to the base and to the horse's back. The top section of the base appears to be wrongly attached to the bottom section, as there is an opening on the right side where they join. There are a few nicks and scratches, notably to the rider's proper left leg. There are a few minor dents to the edges of the base. There is some rubbing to the patina, notably to the horse's proper right ear. The bronze is cast in sections, and original stable joints are visible in places, including at the rider's proper right upper arm.
