Condition
The panel is formed from a single plank, which is slightly bowed but the paint surface remains stable. The painting has been recently cleaned and varnished, and much of the original impasto remains. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals very minor spot retouchings in the lower part of the sky, and the deeper blue of the sky fluoresces darkly under the light. The painting is in very good condition.
Offered in a reproduction Dutch-style frame with imitation tortoiseshell inlay in excellent condition.
