the carved jade hilt of baluster form, set with foil-backed diamonds, rubies and coloured gemstones designed as floral stems, connected to the lobed jade chape decorated en-suite by a polychrome enamelled band with birds amidst foliage

Provenance

Ex-collection Hubert Eaton (3 June, 1881–20 September, 1966). 

Condition

In good condition, in four parts with old restorations consolidating them, some stones possibly old replacements, the enamel opening for blade at underside of chappe bent and twisted, as viewed.
